She lifts the regal neck then
screams "what the heck!
I'll sit a while longer,
it will make me stronger!"
Cramped but not without style,
she flaunts, to make you smile,
lifting first one wing
then another.
Shifting feet carefully
from a damp muddy puddle,
feeling restless,
in a muddle.
Plumage plumped,
no longer a lump,
she rises with majesty and pomp
to the accomplishments, well received, (hatched eggs... earlier conceived.)
Birth dates come and they may go,
some quicker, some slow,
but come they will with much ado
and I wish you love, from me to you!.

What a delightful romp of a poem, my dear Friend. Such a pleasure to read your words, Sweetie...& even more so since they're for me.
Thank you so much for being so thoughtful, so kind, so supportive over these years.
I appreciate your presence among us, dear Poet. Good luck in Carol's contest.
