The sands became the seas
white seas became clouds
and silver shines bent into the end of sight.
From my chair my silver hair
raised in a kinder wind
felt the emptiness of a day
when I last saw you;
when the smile on your lips
was brighter than a sunbeam
and the touch of your hand on my cheek
was a moment I would keep,
your gift to my life.

"The sands became the seas

Excellent imagery. Caught me off guard this morning. Write on, bro.

"...the touch of your hand on my cheek

Beautiful thoughts!
So much is shared during a lifetime of love. I've heard those whose loved ones have 'crossed over' talk about moments when they can still feel tender touches or whispered words sent from the other side. Love goes on.
Best wishes in the contest!

Well done
I find it amazing the number of poems here refering to 'her'.
I love it.
Think I'll go kiss my wife and touch her cheek.
Thanks,
Buddy

Yes, this is just right. Just enough. Just perfect.
Loved it.

Quite a sensitive, engaging and pensive write. Your thoughts are drawn out onto the beach, water sky horizon; lost in beauty and remembrance.
great.

There is something so deep, so lingering when someone touches your cheek this way, isn't there. This is a perfect moment.
