Beneath the moon of full
swathed in soothing breeze
several witches sat in wait
for time itself to freeze...
what concoction would indeed
bring this goal to light?
It took all of the witches
to solve this awesome plight.
With lashings of the stars
and a whisper of moon beam
the ladies shined their cauldren
to the point it gleamed.
Now well prepared they sat
chanted words of protection and success.
Then proceeded with a spell
produced with light-handed finesse...
Tongue of Smog
pulled from the air.
Larvae of Frog
was everywhere.
Hint of Whisper
genlty placed.
Dash of Spring
apply to taste.
Floral Garland
Carefully...
Sprig of Kindess
plucked with ease.
Crystal peppered
Add some Mryhh.
Flecks of gold
and gently stir...
Rustling of autumn trees
flickering in lunar light.
Expectant faces watch the sky
absorbed in beauty of the night.
Soon trees pause, completely still,
essence of time now stagnant.
The witches wait, wary of glitch
scouring every fragment.
Indeed the spell is without flaw,
their meeting may commence!
Come mutterings of witchly works
and too the autumn dance...
Author notes
I know commence and dance dont exactly rhyme. I don't care.
Lol, enjoy!!!

This read so beautifully, I never noticed the 'mis-matched' rhyme until you mentioned it in the AN! Very enjoyable read! Congratulations on the Bronze.

-
yes, I do enjoy - especially with this beautiful background and this enchanting spell into which you have woven the recipe for this autumnal equinox's dance.
I'll take a step towards the cauldron here and say,
"Yuuuuum."

Ah, your words do their own dance, am sure children will love chanting tongue of smog and larvae of frog. You sound like a nice Witch who will, on Halloween, definitely bewitch with a gleam.

Half rhymes count in my book as good enough for rhyming!! Love the the spell. A fine work of art, this poem. Keep it up chica!
