I am a corpse
a pitiful shadow
of what I used to be
despite of how I try
nothing matters to me
old passions have faded
gray with hastened age
I have no resistance
it just does not bother me
a lingering flicker
perhaps of bygone glee
has looked into a mirror
and hates what it sees
I would beg to God
Oh please let it end
but it would be of no use
surely he has forgotten me.

Wow...what a song of pain and hopelessness. This is rife with imagery and sorrow. Beautiful write. Thanks for entering and good luck!
