Hand in hand,
Your whispers brush against my neck.
I shiver at such a naked touch.
I stare in the darkness at the lake's ripples,
And smile as a wave of electricity ripples through me,
With your very nearness.
As the fabric of your shirt is finding the ground,
I'm tempted to sneak a look of you,
Because the moon is lighting the planes of your body just right.
Your eyes meet mine in a moment of shared adoration.
You ask me if I'm ready to make the jump,
But I'm afraid of diving into the unknown.
Somehow in night's shield of darkness your lips find mine.
And you pull away to whisper, "We'll jump into the unknown together."
Hand in hand we jump to find the water's comforting embrace.
Because you're the only one I would venture into the unknown with.
