Eagles soar on thermals,
possessing telescope like
vision. They Explore the
earth below for their livelihood.
Eagles soar in swirls, in slow
turbulent whirlwinds. Birds of prey,
birds of wisdom, birds of presence.
Carful creatures, God’s creations.
Eagles soar thousands of feet
above us. They search,
for mysteries, meanings,
messages for man, from God.
Eagles soar, ever present, above high
crags, tall mountains, sacred places.
Eagles explore, view, fly above
mankind, in search of love,
survival and life.

Author notes
The theme of this poem was inspired by a recently observed flight of eagles and the apparent need for species survival (nature's love if, you will).
The eagle photo is from Wikipedia.

This is lovely and very befitting for such a magnificent creature as the eagle. For this contest, I needed a gold winning poem, however
Thanks for entering my contest and showing your work here. It's an honor to read it

Aw, that's great that you made the poem inspired by species survival! I support that too. Eagles are really powerful and graceful at the same time. =)
I liked it that you described them as God's messengers and as wise beings looking for love, survival and life. It shows how seemingly strong and wise animals they are. The poem flowed really well. =)
Good luck in this contest! =D -
The Illinois bluffs at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi are a great place to observe eagles here in the Midwest. While their flights are of no more noble purpose than our own daily commutes to win food and shelter for ourselves, to watch them does allow us to raise our eyes above our own mundane concerns and marvel at their beauty and grace.

Intriguing poem; I like very much the way you chose just some aspects of the eagles' soaring and all of them good - the seeking, the searching, the exploring, the delving - and avoided the more negative side of eagle's which many do, but I think to do so here, added more hope and uplifting thoughts to the poem which for me as I read it, worked extremely well!
Particularly liked that final line 'searching for their livelihood' - it made me think of the eagless attempting to find their origins, and where they first began ; the eagle is such a majestic creature - you did them justice with this. thank you for entering
