Due For a Miracle

Regardless of the pieces I may have found
I can't see the picture that designs this puzzle
So I float in a purgatory of pain and confusion
Waiting for something or nothing to light my path
In this world
In this world

It's like a cobble stone road lit by paper lanterns in a cold dark night
And every time I begin to take a step they're blown away by a breif, strong wind
And there I am again in the cold dark night confused and alone
Stuck there again for fear of the overshadowed unknown

There must be something that I have missed
Because I never seem prepared for this
Religion tells me it's all because my sins
I suppose that's why I'm atheist

All I wanted was to find myself in this cold world
You told me to believe in something that I can't see
Without reason or question, you beckon me to close my eyes
I tried and I did not ask why, so why is truth so hard to find?
In this world
In this world

It's like a cobble stone road lit by paper lanterns in a cold dark night
And every time I begin to take a step they're blown away by a breif, strong wind
And there I am again in the cold dark night confused and alone
Stuck there again for fear of the overshadowed unknown

Now I am dead
So feel free
To bury me
I have nothing left
Now I am gone
So feel safe
To just walk away
I have nothing here

Please tell me what you think

great imagery on a touchy subject

rather than call my self an atheist.... i prefer to take my religionout of the confines of the proverbial box.. eliminating my need to defend or offend.....
when it comes to religion i pose one simple question....
do you think god has a religion?

    thanks again great write

    that was...

basically breath-taking. i cant say i feel the same way, but i really do understand.

i'm and atheist, and i feel religion is for people who do not know right from wrong for themselves, and instead, need a guide to look for. i govern myself, and i dont need a book telling me how to do whats right.

overall, a great poem, its has goood structure, even as a song it'd be a hit. brilliant. i hope i oculd come up with something as half as good as this one day.

    Props.
