We're No Good...

C an it be that we
O bviously can't just let it go?
D eluding ourselves into thinking
E ventually, together we may grow?
P retending everything is okay
E xcept, really we both know-
N othing is all right,
D espite illusions we might show.

E nough is finally enough,

N ow, we have to let this end.
C ompletely cut it off,
I nstead of alluding we are friends.
E scaping the wrath of dependencies
S o, individually we heal again...

    How creative.
Just what I wanted, something I don't normally read.
This is brilliant, the flow really works with the piece.
    It is fan-freaking-tastic.
    Thank you for your entry.

To me, acrostic-poetry has always been the domain of schoolchildren; Maybe it's the fact that it's the first form of poetry I learned, and seemingly one of the simplest... But there are a few poets on this site who are slowly causing my mind to shift gears, yourself included.

Being able to write an acrostic that packs an emotional punch takes skill, and you seem to have diction down to a science. This is written very maturely, and with an elegance that surpasses any ever written by my grade-school self Well done, and I wish you luck in the contest.

Thanks again for your lovely comment on my poem!

    In love and light,
    Laura
