The wind rasps through the trees,
as the sky breathes heavily,
in and out, in and out;
weary and depleted from the ravages,
the dying embers of summer’s heat,
drying life to a tanned counterfeit.
The moment between each breath,
can extend to an infinity,
for an eye that perceives beauty;
like a close-up, in slow motion,
of a single falling raindrop,
captured in the highest of definition.
The single drop falls not in solitude,
followed eagerly cascading,
by it’s sprightly brothers and sisters;
tickling, massaging, briefly refreshing,
outstretched arms of downcast trees,
fast approaching their winter slumber.
Overhead, grey curtains of cloud,
trundle relentless, like a never ending train,
serving as perfect juxtaposition;
to frame and enhance the richness,
of a world lavishly carpeted,
in glorious hues of bronze, ruby and gold.
as the sky breathes heavily,
in and out, in and out;
weary and depleted from the ravages,
the dying embers of summer’s heat,
drying life to a tanned counterfeit.
The moment between each breath,
can extend to an infinity,
for an eye that perceives beauty;

"The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August,
and here and there a yellow leaf shows itself like the first gray hair amidst
the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many."
