Weaver Of Words

Missing image

The children always gather round
and sit cross legged upon the ground
to listen to his every sound
weaver of tales

He’ll tell them of the things he’s done
the day he flew into the sun
though it was hot, he had such fun
weaver of thoughts

Castles, battles and noble knights
dragons, fire and the fearsome fights
of terrors and of ghostly frights
weaver of dreams

With dolphins he has swum the seas
and sat with monkeys in the trees
he’s flown on high with birds and bees
weaver of fun

He’ll tell of pirates, fairies too
and animals caged in a zoo
he’ll make them talk, and swear it’s true
weaver of words

He tells the tale of man’s great plight
and how he always has to fight
to stop the darkness, keep the light
weaver of hope

To hear him speak captures your heart
his every word wisdom impart,
he’ll make you smile right from the start
weaver of love

Well written composition with perfect flow of the unforced rhyming verse.
I admired the repetition in the use of the words "Weaver of----" in the conclusion of each stanza.
Very creative, imaginative, & Well Done!!

You write such wonderful Sapphics and such great triplets, combining the meter of one and rhyme of the other produces a wonderful whole.
Perfect description of that most valuable of men, the story teller, from gathering round the fire to listen to tales of Noggin the Nog through to Jackanory and beyond, they are all here. Great Stuff, Not bad, not bad , not bad at all!
