Never Perfect

Pluck the dead bits from me
Those parts you do not want
Both the brittle and the rotting
All the pieces by which you taunt
Tear off my imperfections
Petal, stem, and leaf
Rip off all you can find
To discover the me beneath
The me that you now see
May not be the one you thought
The one that you believed in
The one that you’ve now bought
You cannot piece me back together
Though you try glue and tape
The imperfections you once found
Are but a withered cape
What I once was, an imperfect flower,
Falls through cracks in your floor
And what you’re left with now
Is but an ugly naked core
So what do you do now?
Just dump me in the bin
And go back to the store to invite
Another imperfect in.

Please tell me what you think

I like this poem. It flows well and its pretty in a dark twisted fantasy way. it was hard to read though because it seemed more like a short novel than a poem. you did an awesome job.
