Drifting

Im back from babylon and people still babblin on
steppin down from the pedestals I had'em on.
I guess their not steppin down, im rippin'em down.
Look me in the eyes, are you listenin now?
it wasnt time then, but isnt it now?
I went to the edge of my sanity
and it took everything I had in me
to realize I wasnt living happily.
I spun in circles just to find north.
I've reached for the stars but im just too short.
Theres no faith, no love, some tears, some hate.
Im lost in a date, pushed through time, by time.
cant ever stand face to face and see eye to eye.
Im beyond recognition

I've been unraveled at the seams
but its just life, or so it seems

Wow! I agree with jadeangyal below me... "I went to the edge of my sanity/and it took everything I had in me/to realize I wasnt living happily." is my favorite part and I think it's something that will stick in my head for awhile. Wonderful write! Thx for sharing!!

This almost made me cry. Sometimes a poem just hits home. "I went to the edge of my sanity
and it took everything I had in me
to realize I wasnt living happily." I hope you are able to take that realization and do something with it. Your last two lines are so poignant and true. Great poem.
