i close my eyes, the wind cools my face
i can feel those invisible chains holding me in place
"every memory
every moment
every step i take
every heart i break
is ever chain i place
its smothering and relaxing
it's the fate i've been forced to pay"
the chains that bind my heart
the chains that hold my soul
the chains i've created just for me and by what i've been told
no memories to look at, no truth to face
no heart to devour but the one that i gave
no limitations to my own
no craving for any other but the one
the chains of myself, that wrap tight around me
hold me still where i am bound.
my memories, my choices
my life, my desires,
they shape the chains i restrain
my restraint is why there's chains in the first place
they are my true self
my sadistic side that wants freedom
my heart that i gave away
my memories that haunt me nightly
to the smiles and tears i've locked away.
My chains...make sure my heart will stay
and it is from this, my chains will remain
