Idle, languid, hour
Give us your daughter
So as she may carry us through
This whimsical fire of laurels.
Give us storms, give us friendships,
Beasts of lethargy, befitting a poet's muse.
Never again will we ask for more
(Until we forget)
Just a piece, a floral touch
Of the sky in our veins.
Truth be told
There can never be peace,
I'm sick of not hearing it,
But like a child
I weep only for whats in front of me:
Sometimes I throw tantrums at the sun
- My father - for refuting me his light
When Mother comes. But I forget instantly.
So I forget the lack of peace
And forgive those who do not seek it.
From the wind blowing loudly
Over the still granaries,
Wild incantations of nithingness
Across the fields of hidden silence:
I knew I'd see you, today.
In the clouds rolling behind the steeple,
However, I could find no promise
That you would stay.Desolation
Roamed the countryside, invisible
To us behind the two walls
Of incredulous shelter.
Your every word, a static drama,
For you say them as if I've never heard them.
(It is only the caress of your lips I've never felt.)
You sigh, as a plea to awaken the Mars in me,
But no battle-cry ever sounds from indifferent mouths.
(Only your sigh in the morning after would awaken me.)
Prudence: spirit of the aged goddess;
Find me, keep me with you,
Teach me your dance upon the blunted hill,
Let me never rest: kiss me when we're done
And I'll sleep with only my mouth closed.
Save us from what we should never allow!
The waves frolicking in the sheltered bay
Tell me, with a hundred echoing voices:
Her body is on a path
You could never follow.
I listen, quietly to their jade message,
I lay still, here and then nodding my head
So as to give the naval tears
An easy path down my cheek.
How could I be torn between
The truth, and what I want
When there is no choice?
How can I accept it
When everything has already been decided?
Ah I will not be a seer without memory!
I will remember all my senses show me,
And desire all that the waves decree.
A thousand times I will make you, as you are meant to be!
