War is beautiful

Oh listen to the musket's roar
As we fire upon this wall
Oh listen to the musket's roar

Many of our men shall fall
Like our fathers before us
As we fire upon this wall

O' listen to them scream and cuss
With our fire at their feet
Like our fathers before us

They try to admit their defeat
Begging and pleading to be spared
With our fire at their feet

Teach them why we are to be feared
We'll make them scream at least thrice fold
Begging and pleading to be spared

And when we find their young and old
We'll make them scream at least thrice fold
Oh listen to the musket's roar
Oh listen to the musket's roar

A brutal celebration of primary warfare, devoid of civility, devoted to the enemy's total annihilation. This is the fall of Troy, of Jericho and Ninevah in ancient times, and the clash of native cultures with imperialist forces in recent centuries. It is the terror of war in our own time with foes declaring each other to be the personification or representation of pure evil deserving of a final solution.

Thank u for coming to my contest. I liked the poem, not too shoddy. The form is good for your first time. The lines are not forced. Soon you will be able to do more of these as time goes by. Kendhal22
