The better me.

I had to look twice,
sitting next to me,
was me and me.
The one on the left,
all in white,
and on the right,
she gave me a fright.
I am no angel I know,
look at me sitting here,
naked from head to toe.

May be it was a sign,
to change my ways,
at least I think,
the me on the left,
was trying to say.

Her on the right,
she is the old me,
always darkly dressed,
full of misery.
Never a nice word to say,
she hurt too many people,
in different ways.

The me in white,
is who I will now be,
smiling and how,different,
I will be,
wait and see.
We all have different sides
to us,
some people are quick to judge.
I have found out,
who I am,
and what I want to be,
thanks to my better side,
there is now a new me.

This is an interesting piece. The idea behind it is really good, but I think you use the word "Me" too much--it seems like it kind of alienates the reader. But the emotion behind it is really interesting. Thanks for entering.

Nicely done. Duality is always a good subject. You were clear with vivid imagry. I liked the last two lines. It was inspiring and hopeful. Good luck. You should do well. Return the favor?
