You promised me a perfect life
An everlasting lullabye
But the only thing I got from you
Was a fairy tale lie
Thanks for filling me with false hopes
I appreciate the sappy books
The ones with sunshiny-everything-works-out-endings
The kind girls like me scratch out with ink pen
So where did it all go wrong?
Since when did the princess wear a lime pink thong?
Is it something I said, did, or think?
The childhood dreams only darkened my future
A broken girl lost in a fairy tale lie
Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast
The candy coated world of disney only sickens my heart
If it were that easy I'd already have my soul mate
A boyfriend with pearly teeth and a fast car
The only fairy tale place that's meant for me is
A place far, far away, a place where love can't find me.

"A broken girl lost in a fairy tale lie"
I love that line!!! A very awesome take on the prompt here!! You proved that love is indeed just a lie told to us as children at bedtime...Very well done and thank you for your entry
