black and blue feathers
hung loosely overhead
at the edge of the universe
when oblivion touched dawn
where her pale face kisses
her reflection over some lake
how the trees lead the way
step by step on galactic stage
heaven was only minutes away
and we could ride the night
race there and become the light
over a sea of stars
how did we get this far?
hanging by a widow's thread
we'll never fall.
