It's getting smaller,
this box;
Harder, too, and thicker
with every feather I grow and every bone that hollows.
And now I'm lost
in here.
Somehow I can't find
the reason why I'm so far away and left behind.
It's pretty dark,
this box--
I can't see the road ahead of me
Even though I know that it's there, and I know where it leads.
I can't breathe
in here.
I have doubled in size and in mind,
yet I've limited myself and my fully grown wings to this.
To this box.
In this field.
In my world.
In here.

You should win gold for this one. It's saddening, and shows the want for growth to expand, yet not. Wow.
Warmest,
