Forever came quicker than we had hoped,
now here we are,
empty pockets with nothing to show.
We watched the sand slip through our hands
which we held so tightly...
So tightly.
Try as we could to outrun our ghosts,
time held us back,
choked us,
and hasn't let go.
Glass shatters like tears,
falling in slow motion onto our feet,
firmly planted in opposite directions.
Forever has never held us back before...
Forever has never held us back before.
And every time I see the stars,
I think of you and all that we are.
