Like a lightswitch,
my emotions run from high to low.
I don't really care because I don't really know.
I hope to God I don't let it show.
Like a lightswitch,
your presence in my life fluxuates.
And rather than fight these empty debates,
I'm letting the silences define our fates.
Like a lightswitch,
you see through my lies; I see through yours.
I don't know who you are anymore--
But I know you aren't what you were before.
Like a lightswitch,
my life goes on and off and on again.
And still, you can interpret these messages I send.
And when this all has reached an end,
you'll turn me on again--
like a lightswitch.
