women of the ages
always sit and ponder
where have all the good men gone
over hill and yonder
some to find their fortune
some to find their fame
some simply to secure the favor
and the heart of one lone dame
he will sacrifice his comfort
he will sacrifice his pain
he will toil and struggle onward
in the hopes her love to gain
and in the end he triumphs
as the wedding day draws nigh
his struggle won the victory
and her pleasure is his prize

This is an excellent poem! Great flow and structure! I love the last line. Maybe if all guys were so selfless, I wouldn't need to post contests like this!
Thank you for your entry.
