As I reflect on the horrific events,
a nation forever changed that day.
Their cowardly acts made no sense,
innocent victims were taken away.
Family members simple perished,
without ever having said goodbye.
Leaving behind all they cherished,
loved ones praying to know why.
For several weeks I still prayed,
our nation wouldn't stay divided.
American flags proudly displayed,
and overnight we stood united.
I'll always see the face that glows,
when common folk becomes heroes.
