There are gaps in my knowledge.
Windows, empty and sighing
with the phantom of your breath – I
can taste the words, feel them trembling
beneath my teeth, batting and quaking
to be freed. I know
that your hair was long – russet red, or maybe brown
like the earth turned in autumn. It
would tangle in the wind, in my fingers, in
our sheets. I think I loved you? There
is nothing left to tell me
either way.

I apologise profoundly for the delay in judging. I had some serious health issues to deal with and, for reparation I will be sending each participant some points by way of sincere apology. Thank you for your entry.
Excellent finish. I reminds me a little of some of the phrasing in "Gerogia Beach," one of my favourite poems - if you don't know that write - find it. I'll leave the poet name aside ... just to make it somewhat a challenge.

It's ok, I don't mind at all. Health takes precedence.
I'll have to look that up ^.^
