NineEleven

The day had not half gone
Quick kisses at the station
I'll see you at home

No you won't
You fucking won't
Cos I'm here
With a big fucking bomb

Oh man the office sucks
The paperwork mountain
Gotta earn those bucks

No you don't
You fucking don't
Cos I'm here
Gonna shit on your luck

The day had not half gone
But evil had yet come
It's 8.41
And my day is done

Author notes

God bless the US and those who lost loved ones. No matter what evil befell America that day, the integrity, warmth compassion and resolve of the US people came through loud and clear to the rest of the world. Lovers of freedom will never be defeated.

You have made me feel a bit ashamed....until I read this searing poem I was just a bit tired of the 9/11 memorial stuff. This is real. Thank you.

Only a poet of your talents could capture such a tragedy in the way you have protrayed here. No one that day could have ever imagained they wouldn't be going home after work. Your author notes says it all, "Lovers of freedom will never be defeated." God Bless you my friend in England. Sylvia, aka Mysty Rain

An anger that any decent human being can feel and relate to. Well expressed and surely felt by many.

    Fiery, poignant and poetic!!!!

You're such a diverse writer! Once, I have you figured out, you flip the script with heat and anger. You expressed the outrage that Muslims, Britons, Americans and foreign internationals had that day. It was murder. It was just a fucking murder! I felt the same when that bomb exploded in Oklahoma City in 1995! I cried at both terror attacks.

The day had not half gone
    Quick kisses at the station
    I'll see you at home

In these stanza, you captured the normalcy of a work day.

    No you don't
    You fucking don't
    Cos, I'm here
    Gonna shit on your luck

In this one, you got into those terrorists' minds. You plugged in on what they thought of doing that fateful day!! This is the most emotionally-charged piece you ever wrote!!!! Fantastic!!
