Today I woke to Patriots Day,
As we remember the day the towers fell.
How people could ever act that way
Is still more then I can tell.
We remember those who died suddenly,
And those who died to save others lives.
We think of those who had family
That they lost on that day as well.
We stop for a moment to say a prayer,
Thinking of the lives cost since then.
The death toll did not stop there:
We are reminded of war loses again and again.
There is no doubt that we will never be the same,
Too many things have changed for that.
But we can still look back from where we came,
And remember those who got us to where we're at.
