Perfect Pitch

Classical music soothes confusion,
rejuvenating, it has stood the test of time;
a light show in the mind

Sublime; violin and cello
brandy strings unlocking gates,
massaging the heart

Harmonies without trendy
draining lyrics of desire
and relationships.

Notes become the cells
flowing in blood vessels
carrying potent oxygen

A journey through the
endless embroidery of life
while time stands still

Autumn leaves, winter snow,
greenery, rainfall, summer breeze;
secular, ageless, deeply religious

Permeating water's mist
song of trees, woodwinds' whirlwind,
heavenly spins, music of dance,
universal romance.

One may listen in the grand hall, tuxedo'd;
or at home, bathrobed, with public radio
--- as long as one is attuned so

You may be raggedly clad in
a train station where, for a buck,
pupils sometimes play

Music the true devotees
have studied for love
far greater than for money.

Listening, one is never alone,
but specially bonded with those who
have long appreciated and composed.

Classical music holds
the percussion of life's work,
pure melodies and complexity

Including everything that we
as people have ever experienced
without specifying any of it

Element of freedom to be,
boundless river of humanity.

    Oh wow, I love this. It is so good. It is very smooth and easy to read. The rhyming doesn't make it awkward it makes in flow really well. I do appreciate classical music but only on a basic level this poem makes me want to listen to it more. It really is beautiful. Thank you for entering my contest!

    I too love classical music and find it makes me happy but you have said a lot more than I would say. I like the line about how classical music includes everything that we have ever experienced without specifiying any of it. It is indeed a wordless language.

    Thank you for your interesting and original write.

    Interesting perspective on classical music. I really enjoyed it. Personally, I like all types of music, except for Jazz and Blues. Classical soothes me, but so does Metallica ;-) Thanks for sharing this sweet poem!

    Well thought out reflection on the music and description of feelings. Nothing so sweet as a sweeping opus, and it does smooth ones day.

    No this is a pleasant little write. Thanks for sharing it. I personally don't like classical music all that well. Some pieces I do... but all in all it's just not a favorite of mine. Thanks for sharing this piece

    What a great piece. Wondering who you might have been listening to while writing it. It says alot from an interesting point of view, and urged me to read on. The awkwardness lessened the second time I read it. Thanks for sharing it

      Thank you very much. I was listening to a classical radio station that is relatively new to this area. For a while, there wasn't any.
