One plus one is two; as defined by some scholar.
But is that the arithmetic that really matters?
A brain plus a thought equals a conscience,
Emotion plus instinct equals a heart,
So why does it feel like a conscience plus a heart...equals death?
Author notes
This is a wierd take on the contest...don't know if you'll like it at all...but it just came to me. For us to be alive...if feels like we're dead. As defined by who...? Me...? What authority do I have to make such a bold statement? Or is it my right to believe so?
Don't know what kind of mood I'm in...obviously a messed up one. In the long run your heart and conscience don't matter...it was all created to be destroyed by someone or something.
Good luck to others...

this is great and very thought provoking. I find myself thinking and feeling just the way you have expressed here a lot, I'm told I think about it too much....just the way the world is

excellent take on math...the math of philosophy as opposed to arithmetic. doesnt really make sense, does it? i like how you put it all together...basic math...one plus one equals two...something that makes sense...and then you end of with something that's just...wtf? where'd that come from?
aka...it's really good...very thought provoking! great job
