eviction notice

tears that fall without measure
eyes that cry for the loss of love
irritation from the onion of hearts
a bulb without flesh tears my senses

leeks and eschalots warn of dangers
large bermudas creep ever closer
garlic to the sensitivity of life
yellow onions can cut the heart of passion

dry the tears of callous sins
weeping has broken the darkness of sorrow

Author notes

prompt #7
Is there really an onion big enough to cause all those tears?

    Hi Poetess,
I really like this poem. I liked the way you managed to work your way through the allium family. Are Bermudas a type of onion? I also liked the last line,

“weeping has broken the darkness of sorrow”

They do say it’s better to give vent to our emotions rather than bottle them up.

    Thanks for posting this,
    Love, Peter
