The Trick the Gods Played On Me

The night brought the sound of a train
rattling by our bed,our insanity ship!
Neighbours machiavellian racketiness sang
like a portrait of lust and naked boredom  through the walls,
as we slipped on to our kiss of magic.
And time galloped through your eyes,
those warps of fantasy, you looked frantic,
like a princess of clay scared to be broken.
I inhaled the love hums as you whispered them
in a uncertain foreign language yet recgonizable
to my mind burning of a carnivorous worshiping sparkle.
I had far longed for those words dripping above my chest,
falling from the raibow of your piercing miraculous gaze...
I looked outside, it was raining,
and even though you loved to wonder through storms dancing
happy like the stream of a river bleeding into the sea,
you rapidly promised me starry skies till the end of times.

We were finaly One

You finaly slept.
With my enchantment flying upon
your goddess pale silhoutte
i jumped through the night with the
thought of morning and the glory it would bring
slowly watching you rise from sweet slumber.
I planned your favourite breakfast and
recited poetry to gently awake you.
It was still raining.
Time suddenly felt like pages of
an endless manuscript .
Your coffee was turning cold.
I read persistently, stronger and louder and harder.
I read of myths, read of travels, read of ancient lands,
fragmented love and ships drifting in the bottom of the ocean.
I read of mermaids in the sky
and eternal passion through universes of existence.

But you slept...

I aproached,
for my lips would now awake you with the tenderest kiss...
Your lips, icebergs at my fingertips,
motionless and dry stared at me strangely.
I didnt recgonize you, though i knew it was you.
Hell poured outside our window.
The clatter was diabolically imense.
The table held the now almost frozen coffee.
Wake up, my mouth scattered
but you refused and refused....
I bawled, ordering you to obey.
I rang Him seeking help but He wouldnt anwser
Damn You, i cried, damn You,
may your flowers burn in paradise!

Gelid like the deserted coffee you radiated stillness,
stabbing me like a million swords, penetrating my guts,
ripping my organs and asphyxiating my blackened heart.
I laid a blanket above you and said goodbye.

No longer we were One.

    Speechless!

This is exactly what I'm looking for..

This had my hooked from the start, you are a metaphoric genius! There are so many beautifully and wonderful things about this poem..
I had far longed for those words dripping above my chest,
falling from the raibow of your piercing miraculous gaze... (I am guessing this is in reference to those three magic words)

    Truly, stunning....

I looked outside, it was raining,
and even though you loved to wonder through storms dancing
happy like the stream of a river bleeding into the sea,
you rapidly promised me starry skies till the end of times.

I love the way the cup of coffee almost becomes a symbol of death and the repetition for this works really well... Your coffee was turning cold/The table held the now almost frozen coffee/Gelid like the deserted coffee you radiated stillness

Thank you for your wonderful entry

    I love your work
