For all the women who like staying home,
who know how to cook a roast,
and change a diaper -
who think that love and sacrifice are our highest calling:
this is our lament.
Take time to mourn our current society
where "homemaker" is a dirty word, and
marriage a fallen sacrament.
Holy Mary, pray for us:
our lives are falling around us, and
we cry into the velvet night.
Our crock-pots and clothespins
sacrificed on the altar of progress.
What a funny world we live in,
where liberation entraps,
unity separates,
and love is a lie told to women
to ensure the growth of the species.
Please tell me what you think
