I dare not step away from God's word,
It is my life, and my sword.
With it I'll defend the poor,
and stand up to the strong.
No, I will not stray from His word.
With it I know what is right,
And what is wrong...
1 Timothy 2:11-12 proclaims,
"I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man"
Yes, that's for you dames.
That is the word of God, his holy plan.
1 Cor. 11 states,
"Man is the head of a woman"
"For man was made first"
Yet for that authority,
She will always thirst.
You see, there is no wavering from His word,
God's plan is my life,
And it is my sword.
And with it I shall cut down evil.
With it I shall know his will.
We cannot leave God's master plan.
Do not be deceived, my friends.
Christ said you are my disciples,
IF YOU OBEY ME.
And you are my friends,
IF YOU DO WHAT I SAY.
A woman who is a preacher will never bear good fruits,
for she has strayed from the word from the start.
Yes, the church she pollutes,
For to the Lord, she has not given her heart.

So you don't think that God calls women to be preachers? I mean, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly Lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:12! Maybe God gives some women a gift for it? And might women in the military have some authority over civlian men, if necessary (i.e. male POWs)? Just some things to think about, Roger. If you're going to be in Kansas Sep 20-27, here's my cell phone number: 785-506-4918. And as for the Navy, I love my job, I really do. It's just that sometimes I have my days lol. I do like this, it's just that men should also respect women.

Very true, men should respect women. The word says "Women, submit to your husbands. Husbands, love your wives." So from this scripture we see that God does say to respect women, but women must submit to men, and they cannot hold a position of authority. It says this in God's word, so we must do it. No "if's, and's, or but's" about it!

I'm not sure what to say to you, but this just doesn't sound like you. The last stanza perticularly disturbs me because I'm on my way to becoming a youth pastor. This sexist quoting does not seem like you at all. But I do hope that you think of me no less as the strong christian I am because I'm using my life to become a preacher. Because that just doesn't seem right.

Hey, Sis
Hey Courtney. I can tell you alot more if you want. God does not give permission for women to be preachers, you must understand that. Read the comments at the bottom of that poem and you will see the scripture I use to back up what I say. What do you want in life? To please man? or to please God? We have to understand that He is our master, and we must follow Him and Him alone. The flesh wars with the spirit and wants what it can not have, so that we may be tempted. That's another verse, but I can't remember which one, if you want I can find it for you and get the exact wording. If you want, I can have my wife talk to you as well, she would have to use my profile though because she doesn't have one. It's not a sexist thing, it's God's holy word. Please, if you trust me at all little sis, you gotta look this up and pray about it, ok?
Agape,
Bro Roger

MMM a very different perception on the feud of man over woman.
But you know it is inevitable woman will rule the world one day bro! So get used to it.
Well they already do but you just don't know it yet LOL -
There is no way you read that whole bible! You need to start from the beginning again where it talks about judging people. I guess everyone interprets it different but I see you have a long lonely road ahead of you. Further more the rules were pretty much grade school level so apparently you can't interpret things very well because I said no religion bashing.
-
CAN U READ???
Before you go off quoting bible scriptures in a contest, you should first learn how to read. The rules state that there is to be NO religion bashing!! Secondly, if you DID want to quote scriptures, you might want to actually read the ENTIRE bible to see how many references that God uses to the SONS of God. If you did, you would know that God sees man and woman as equals, therefore, we are all referred to as the SONS OF GOD...that means there is no gender divide. Plus, the bible states that the woman is a representation of the church...so WHY would she NOT be welcome to lead in the very place she represents??? That doesn't make in sense on earth OR in heaven!! This statement alone negates your ENTIRE poem. Before you go making assumptions and accusations...you may want to do on a subject that you're a little more well-versed in...... -
-
Actually, you are wrong. God does not refer to us as Sons of God, well he does to us, but not you. Read Genesis when they talk about the Sons of God and the Daughters of Men. Now I never said God didn't see us as equal, however... He does say we each have a specific role to perform in life and that of preacher is left to men. And it uses woman as representation of the church because we are the bride of Christ. We are to SUBMIT to his authority. He is OVER US. You, my friend, have made the assumptions and you may want to do a little research before you reprimand me. You have no right to come into my poem and read it, then tell me things of which you obviously know nothing about. Read your Bible, do some research, ask your husband or father what is right, then come back to me and we'll talk. But first, get your heart right with God.

It seems to me that you have taken the words spoken by God and twisted them into something that you deem "righteous." I do have the right to comment on this poem because this is a free country and so is this site. Freedom of speech and the right to preach whether man or woman. You might want to read past Genesis, ask God to open your eyes and your heart to the real truths that the bible contains. I don't have to ask anyone what is right, because, besides what you may think, I do have the ability to read...yeah women can do that too....
-
-
OK, you need to know something, if you can not provide me with scripture, then you can not say that I have not read the word of God. I can provide you with scripture. and how have I twisted scriptures? I will provide them, you read them, and then inform me of your scripture... Let the Bible interpret itself. Seem fair? Here they are. 1 Timothy 2:11-14, 1 Cor. 14:34-37, and 1 Cor. 11:8-9. I can get more if you need. Please respond soon.
