Disillusioned

Lips sown together with filigree wire,
I'll never unveil my reasons.
Impending memories, the bane of my thoughts,
Forever my reprisal will wane.

The harrowing invasion spurns misguided feelings,
Ignominity erupts.
Silently, I'll make you requite,
I'll suffer of regal musings.

Bereft of my dreams,
You'll rest on my pyre,
You'll burn in effulgent flames.

I'll make you listen to my quiet blather,
You'll suffer of Grendel's fate.
And all you've indulged from my hidden coffer
Will haunt you after your death.

So take now what you can
And bury your faith.
There's no God where you'll be going.

Author notes

'sell my soul, buy some love'

"You lifted me up to drop me so far"
"What was the crime, what did she pay?"

This poem was also inspired by the book Beowulf. Incase you don't know the reference to Grendel's fate is that pretty much Grendel was horrifically slaughtered. Beowulf kept his arma s a trophy and his head. I also looked up some of the words in Beowulf and used them in the poem. I hopw you like it.

It wa also slightly inspired by the book Speak.
