Music

Twinkling lights, flashing sound;
dazzling colors dance along the lines.
A note, a rest, this lovely piece
sends my soul into a trance.
Ethereal effect suspends the notes
high up above, then float right down.
Collected whispers, thoughts bouncing
off the walls of color-mixed sound.
Intake, release, a soft sibilant breath;
an echo of the last phrase held over till the next.
Harmonies twirl, melodies swirl,
combine into one and melt all my stress.
Spring through my pores and dive deep into my muse.
Spreads through my body, twining tendons,
tearing muscles, rupturing veins, breaking bones.
Releasing my very soul from it's prison,
and wrapping it up warm and safe to be carried away,
up, into the music-filled sky.

Author notes

I love music. Music is powerful, and helps me release so much of my emotion. It is the very foundation of my life, and feeds my soul.
I can only hope I have captured a glimpse, a tiny glimmer, of it's true power.
This is what music does for me.

    This really speaks music. Music comes from the soul so why would it not sooth and melt away all that weighs it down.

    Wonderful job. I love it.

    I am too musically inclined.

    I'm not too sure why I mentioned that...

    But...hey why not know what you don't want to... hehe
