To me the man who changed my life
Is an eternal mystery
If he had talant I'll never know
For I never met him
Because during the summer of '77
A motorcycle crash took him to heaven
But eternal gratitude from me
For his death gave me my kidney
Through the passage of time
I've learnt the talents that are mine
To give time to those who need
To love and care about a world
That is in torment and pain
Even though it will never change
Though stranger we never met
I thank you for everyday in life

This is not my best poetry by any means but it is from the heart because it is true

You had my heart in the palm of your hand.
As I sit here now tears find their way down my cheeks. I'm sure that this angel is smiling in Heavan. He probably thinks this is one of your best. I'm sure he understood his passing when God explained that you needed his help so that you could remain here longer to share you gift with the world and enrich the lives of all you touch. The only thing I would change would be to capitalize Heavan. That's just the way see it. Thank you for sharing.

It has been something that I have wanted to do for most of my life. This is the first real oppertunity that I have had as I wanted to do it in a decent way. Thank you for your comment much appreciated.

May be not you best but a worthy write. I bet it is the best epitaph your mystery man could have. What a testiment. Other than riding you may never know much about him, except for that second he took to mark that organ donor box on his driver's license. But it tell's the world he cared about others and because of it you are here. Bless him and you.

Thank you for your comments they are very much appreciated. As you can understand his memory has remained me for over thirty years and this is the first time I have a way of saying 'thank you'.

A gift of such magnitude, given at such cost, has clearly both merited and received your appreciation. It has allowed you to have time you might otherwise not have had to discover and magnify your talents, learn to better love and serve, and gain much experience.
That a stranger and his family cared that one like you should receive this gift, I think has opened your eyes and heart to "love and care about a world" of other strangers. Your life was changed, but you also changed your life. You have chosen a beautiful course to follow with it. Kudos.
