Ponder in the Dark

I know not what I have done
to upset the presence above,

but he persists on hiding my Sun.

Disgusted glares from the

clouds with black linings;

even the lightning looks dark to me.

I can no longer see the horizon

to dream of a more distant land,

perhaps I shall never dream again.

Say... Is that a bridge?

Author notes

Prompt: Angry Skies

The last line is probably one of the favourite lines I have ever produced. There is a reason. In fact there are several. What words does it speak to you?

    Excellent indeed. A very probing piece, one that is so sad and dark. However the bridge shows me that there is a future and light ahead and we must keep searching. Yes a wonderful end to this, quite uplifting.
    Thank you for a great entry

    I love the uniqueness of thought within this poem
    Disgusted glares from the

    clouds with black linings;

    even the lightning looks dark to me
    those lines say so much..
    as does the bridge..
    Best wishes in the contest
