Another life is taken,
another death to report;
for this I blame Satan,
but, my heart is not in the war,
because I still don't understand.
Why would you leave like this?
Why would you make your parents find you,
face-down on your bedroom floor?
Your sister will never again be the same.
Your parents have just lost half of their heart.
None of us ever thought you'd go this way,
you were so young, your life at its very start.
I just don't get this...
Why did you feel the need to go?
Why did you make that choice,
end your life and leave this world alone?
I know you had a voice,
you could have called out!
Why did you feel the need to go?
I wish I could feel sympathy for you,
but, at this moment,
I wish I could see you, just to strangle you.
Look at what you've done to all of us!
You've left us alone to weep and to mourn,
you have left behind a forlorn home.
Please, just tell me...

My username is trinajean.
I entered this contest because just last night my friend's brother comitted suicide. I didn't know him too well, but, I do know her and I know that right now she is in a lot of pain. I wrote this poem/song about an hour after I found out and I hope that when people read it, they think twice, and think about their loved ones before they make the choice to kill themselves. Think of your families and your friends, don't leave them wondering if it was their fault, don't leave them at all.
