Self Secret

As if you didn’t know
I live there, deep within
I’m everything you’ll ever love
To kill, and kill again.

Ooooppps. By carelessness undone. So too goes the world.

Regardless, a delightful contest and a very thought provoking prompt. Thanks for the opportunity.

    Ah.

A step ahead, all the way, keeps the heart aware ... and pure.

You wrote a lot of poems ... I think I am almost done catching up.

so much bitterness in that last line..it's like there's no hope for this relationship. like when a sadist and a masochist get together there has to be drama and it will play itself out over and over again.
    that's the sense I get.

A touch?! This is brilliant, I don't know what to say. Short, but in a sadistic way, I like this side of you! It's raw and honest and so cleverly penned

    Garrison,

when I got to the last line, I was like, "scandlous". Love this, deep but dangerous.

You look inwards so deeply. These few lines snuggly fit the title. It has a sense of reflecting on the past before being hurt by someone and talking to the person who caused you deep pain. - Well just my thoughts...probably way off, but very compelling. It demands re-reading.

The title of this poem leans toward self-reflection and introspection...love or hate of the self, but it can also be read in a more broader sense. The last line really adds another dimension to this poem. Wonderfully succinct and powerful writing.

    This is powerful!

It flows unbelievably well, which compells you to read it and reread it. An upfront but deep message, it can mean what it does personally to each reader. I love it! To me, I take away... the message of yes, im in here, and i hurt fresh each time, even though you repeadedly try to kill me, i will not be broken. Projection, much?
