Every day a gift
treasured moments
to behold
the hours pass
by in such a
flurried frenzy
unless we stop
to ponder why
stopping short
our visions seem
like smokey glass
and screen
never really knowing
things not always
what the seem
and yet some tend
to travel with
heavier than thou
baggage
allowing for precious
seconds to be stolen
from beneath the
wheels of life's
infamous carousel

Author notes
Life has taken several twists and turns recently....I've begun to ponder a great many things. From people rushing to and fro in such a state of panic to the differences from generation to generation. Having come face to face with a near cancer scare ( thankfully the biopsies came back negative ) and working and dealing with the public and my mind seems to spin constantly. This is a piece that reflexes where my mind has been.
Slow down and take the time to appreciate all things great and small!

Excellent write! I've been near death several times, and have come to realize that we don't live a day at a time or even an hour at a time. Instead, we live a heartbeat at a time, and every moment should be lived and savored for what it is. And, those really especial, precious moments in life should be grasped onto and treasured forever!
Nice work, lovely lady!
