Upside down

she wrote a reminder
and turned my heart
upside
d

when I did not want to be
like this today,
up straight,

my two feet
on the ground -
in control

they told me that this sadness
creeps silently,
least when expected –

there is a small sadness
at the back of my throat,
hurting;
a spear-point pain
within my heart,

like the day she died

it's like a full stop,
impregnated
with years of everything
contained within me
and her love

how I wish that I can once more
put my arms around her,
whisper in her ear,

and then …

turn myself
upside again

There is such beauty in this heart-felt poem.
A wonderful write that reads, as close to the bone.
    Quietly beautiful.

      Thanks Tirrell -

one thing about poetry [and not for the feint-hearted] is that we can express the inner self. Thanks for commenting and for understanding that it was 'close to the bone'. Frans

    Beautiful Poetry!!!!!!!

Good Day Frans, A lovely form you have chosen for these lovely words. Your words are soft and heartfelt. Our loved ones remain in our hearts and memories until we are together again someday. Being away from them is but a short time compared to the eternity we shall have with them. Love your poem. Reminds me of my sweet Brian. Thank you for sharing.

    Blessings My Friend,
    Sandy

      As always, it's so lovely

to have to stopping over. Love is a funny thing - both happy and sad! Glad you enjoyed the poem, it was written on that spur of the 'sadness' moment - this keeps us human! Frans

      Thanks Kathleen

it was written in a moment of sadness - perhaps not the best poem, but true in words. Be blessed. Frans

Ah I understand this sadness so well ...

the longing to say Hallo Moeks! Or, as you must have said: More Moeder. A beautiful, beautiful poem.

I loved the tenderness. It brings a lump to my throat. Let me hug you

I shall be your mother for as long as I am here.

I think you will enjoy KREATIV's book Mothers borne by Children ... From your perspective as a sociologist/social worker/group dynamic specialist, this is a book on healing and would unravel many knots. Devon is a magical writer.

    Be well, my friend.

      Dear Myra

Your endopathic understanding is appreciated. I wrote this poem after reading of your new book: 'Mothers borne by children' - what a lovely meaningful lingering title. Frans

I shall post "Mothers" to you ...

or shall bring it myself! Devon's poems are completely stunning.
