Autumn’s sunset has arrived,
her scent is in the air
Summer’s heat’s been put away,
now fall will she her flair
Colors vibrant; smells so crisp,
her leaves will set the tone
Followed by her cold-cold heart,
that’ll chill you to the bone
The forest trees will show their shape,
naked they will stand
Reminding us as the cool wind howls,
she is in command
Smoke billows up to fill the air,
as her skins now turn to ash
She sends the sun to bed so early,
the night it seems to crash
Arguments she will not have,
the fruit falls of the trees
Her gray skies come and spread their gloom,
and send an early freeze
She takes no joy in modern man,
her routine has always been the same
And soon she’ll call her sister in,
whose snow will be your bane
Enjoy her show accept your fate,
the year it reaches a close
Her sights will bring joy to your eyes,
her smells tickle your nose

This was just gorgeous;
lovely imagery, thoughts,
elaborations & emotion.
Excellent descriptions of Autumn.
I LOVED these lines here
"Smoke billows up to fill the air,
as her skins now turn to ash
She sends the sun to bed so early,
the night it seems to crash"
--that was just so breath-taking.
Such a masterpiece!
Thanks for entering & best of luck
