no hay el principio
me consumiendo enteramente
Author notes
Saudade: "The bitter feeling is the one that hurts inside, a knot in the heart that makes us cry. Worse than solitude, where the hope to find or to re-encounter someone is possible. With saudade, the void inside can't be filled."
Lost in the abyss of your words,
there is no beginning
consuming me entirely,
like the Bermuda triangle consumes a wayward ship
A lyric playing and replaying to a beat,
that I recognize only as my hearts
Quickening at my memories of you,
pulling me deeper into a mystery novel
that is unsolvable
An unstoppable earthquake, or wave of emotion
Striking hard, deep and lingering in my heart
You are a void, unfilled, untouched and forever present
In my heart, my soul and in my life
I feel your absence in every essence of my being
You are the part of my heart,
That not even a Navy Sailor could find
You are my Saudade

wow... thats so amazing. of course, it made it even cooler that you wrote it in Spanish! great. i especially like You are a void, unfilled, untouched and forever present and I feel your absence in every essence of my being. i like how you used the word saudade, that was really neat.

Beautifully done! I appreciated both the spanish and english version....so...emotional, intense.
Incredible.

You draw the reader in immediately,
"Lost in the abyss of your words,
there is no beginning"
And presumably no end, being an abyss. The line is both intriguing and yet, easily understood.
"that I recognize only as my hearts
Quickening"
Which intensifies the mood. BTW, should that be "heart's?" I'm lousy at punctuation.
"You are a void, unfilled, untouched and forever present"
I like that, At first it seems contradictory but essentially that is what some memories are...without form yet ever present.
Saudade is a interesting word isn't it. As you showed in your poem, it's a multifaceted word that can't be defined by a single definition and it is the skill of all you poets to bring it to life for us readers.
I wish you good luck in the contest, the host is a good judge of poetry. I think she'll like yours.

I love Spanish! I took it for three years in school and still only speak the very basics. LOL I did try to read through the Spanish version of the poem.
Thanks for the Author's Notes.
Beautiful!
Always ♥
