As I crawled into that Hospital Bed,
I wrapped my arms around that frail old woman
And told her "I love you, Mama."
And with her last breath
She uttered these words with a smile.
"I love you, too, little Ladybug.
Darlin', You're my strong little girl
And you'll be fine on your own.
Baby, I'm proud of you.
It's my time to leave.
So don't you cry."
And her eyes closed
Her heart stopped beating.
It killed me
To see the woman
That had supported me through all my years
Lay down and die.
(((Unfinished)))

you have tapped into the vast majority of all human emotions here: The loss of a loved one, and perhaps the saddest and most painful loss of all; Ones mother.
I have a poem that I wrote for my mother when I was 12, (not posted on here) and I will respond to this poem with it. As soon as I post it...I will give you the link
"Pick up the pen and never put it down again"
