Waiting…
Each day, like a page in a book,
crumpled and static,
a black and white existence.
Waiting…
for you
and returning motion
and the color to fill
my days.
Each day, like a page in a book,
crumpled and static,
a black and white existence.
Waiting…
for you
and returning motion
and the color to fill
my days.

I found this to be a sad poem.. the imagery that you have used through out this poem is not only vivid but very powerful to. waiting for love to bring color back into a world that perhaps it now only black & white. Excellent take on the prompt.
I do have a question for you though.. it's my own little personal pet peeve, the use of and in lines 7 & 8. I guess for me I'm odd in the sense I don't like repetitious words.
good luck in the contest

Ya, this is my story short and to the point I have a PHD in her. The saga has been 42 years now.
Thankyou for your nice comments on Grasshopper pie. And yes I did see the "cloaked being" only after I wrote it.
I'd love to read your favorite that you've written.

Great take on the picture, love how you combined the texture into your write. Good luck

-
Very symbolic and it discloses the very deep intention of the artist with the contrast of the figure against a tear in the two color canvas.
