Plangent chords escape like uncaged birds
music flowing smoothly from her fingers,
sweetening the night with honeyed sound
the violins soft voice allures and lingers.
Yielding notes called to the midnight air
following her bow like charging warriors,
sinuous fingers slick on heated strings
rising on the wings of lilting harriers.
Pensive overtures assail the night
freed from reservoirs of deep emotion,
bubbling away beneath the surface
spuming like the undulating ocean.
Like a drum, her heart falls to the beat
mounting to the music of her soul,
an unknown force flowing to the rhythm
every fibre yields beyond control.
Vibrating strings swept at a frantic pace
accelerating in a practiced fashion,
fancies strange and weird to wring a heart
evoking echoes of her skill and passion
