winds

low and eerie
whistling sounds
winds move sand

bright and cheerful
dancing on limbs
leaves sway

trees wave
bow with splendor
natural curve

mingled scents
blend and lift
atmospheric perfume

I read all the other poems in the contest because I was bored. I actually only liked two, MariGoes and yours. Some of the others were ok, but yours was unaffected, simple, understated. I found it odd that it was a contest about nature and yet most chose to dress their poems up in somewhat unnatural ways. But maybe that is just my taste, but I like to see the structure beneath the work, not so decorated as to lose all recognition of what the topic originally was about.

They may have been haiku but I preferred to read them as a unit, it worked well that way I think.

ahh... haiku and wind, a wonderful creative idea and last lines brought a smile in each link of this marvelous chain. These poems each capture some essence of wind from touch, sights, senses, sensations so well done in a wonderful voice...Thank you for this fine entry into the contest and best of luck in the judging...PK

I love that! Excellent and vivid imagery throughout this nice poem. It made me feel warm inside, although it seemed like a cool autumn day.
