~Song For Lost Youth~

It was a day to remember,
a flock of seagulls;
dirty pretty things,
reeling around like old fighter pilots
waiting on a war,
their simple minds undecided
whether they were dead or alive.

We reminisced on happy Mondays,
safe in our sanctuary; our soft cell of youth,
not ready for the massive attack
of responsibilities, how that altered images
that we were all saints,
a new order trawling the streets,

heckling manic street preachers
from the darkness of our enigma,
the pseudo visage of bravado,

but in the end we all fell
from the friendly crowded house
into a savage garden,
where everything but the girl was the cure,
and I would take that bullet for my valentine,
as the ten second epic
at a funeral for a friend.

heckling MANIC STREET PREACHERS
from THE DARKNESS of our ENIGMA,
the pseudo VISAGE of bravado,

where EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL was THE CURE,

    Such Flow!
I am truly amazed by this poem, the words seem to morph together and I did not in any part think that the band names were forced or didn't fit. You really took this prompt and ran with it!
"but in the end we all fell
    from the friendly CROWDED HOUSE
    into a SAVAGE GARDEN,
where EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL was THE CURE,"
    Fantastic!
