As I sip on my vanilla iced coffee
You glance at me from across the room
Sitting there by yourself book in hand
I sit, waiting, silently giving my command
You must understand my body language
For you stand and head in my direction
You pull up a chair and sit staring at me
I stare at my book and just continue to read
This drives you crazy, my playful gesture
Needing me to acknowledge your presence
I look up from my book only to lose my place
Because of the way the sunlight hits your handsome face
I give up with my book and finally put it down
I stare at you, you stare at me not moving away
Finally I stand and hope you follow me towards the door
As I get ready to leave I turn back to you just to be sure
I knew you’d understand my silent instructions
For you’ve grabbed your jacket and, you’re walking my way
I sip on my vanilla iced coffee savoring the cool treat
And thinking how this day is going to be wonderfully sweet
