that's the term they use
we went in eyes wide open
but blinded from the truth
vows we spoke meaningless
lies of love we pledged
stood together in distrust
condemned within betrayal
blood runs cold in our veins
eyes they glazes and weep
this story book fairy tale
an illusion from the start

WOW!!! This poem is very dark and I really love it. sad though in the sense that the marriage was like this in the beginning. I think that the last two lines in your poem sums it all up.
