Bits of you
are strewn
here and there
and
your words
cling, like
spiderweb
in my
hair.
Cluttering
the halls of school
alongside unwanted notes
are memories forgotten
and recalled.
Motions
linger around
in the cold night air
and games are finished
without a shadow
of who you were
there.
Invisible arms
sometimes embrace me,
but I awake
and discover
again how alone
you left me.
Sweet
tears ice
my hollow cheeks,
as I hear your
name,
mentioned
without a thought
in passing.
Sometimes, it makes me
want to scream for someone close
to hear and maybe care enough
to come between.
Instead,
I wait and hope
that this
is the
dream.
Author notes
I only want to say that this person, this theme, this topic, has surfaced multiple times in my poetry lately.

Thank you. You probably picked my favorite, and the most true, part of this poem to quote. Lovely.
